Your most common questions, answered with care.
At HEILEN, we know that beginning (or returning to) Pilates can come with questions — especially if you’re managing an injury, pregnant, or simply unsure of where to start.
Our studio in Dee Why offers clinical, boutique Pilates experiences designed to support real bodies through all stages of life — and all levels of experience. Whether you’re seeking strength, structure, support, or nervous system regulation, we’re here to walk alongside you.
Here are some of the questions we hear most often from new clients — answered with the same care we bring to our classes.
I’m new to Pilates. Is HEILEN the right place for me?
Absolutely. HEILEN was designed for people just like you — individuals who are looking for intelligent movement, guided with care. Our small group classes (maximum 6 people) allow us to tailor instruction, offer real-time feedback, and support you through every stage of your Pilates journey.
We also offer an intro pass — The HEILEN Week — which gives you 7 days of unlimited classes so you can try Reformer, Mat, and Studio formats in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Where should I start if I’m new — group classes or private sessions?
It depends on what your body needs.
If you’re feeling well, injury-free, and simply want to ease into movement with support, The HEILEN Week is a beautiful place to begin.
If you’re navigating an injury, fatigue, or want a deeper understanding of your body before joining group classes, we recommend The HEILEN Intensive — a one-on-one private series that includes a clinical assessment and 3 personalised sessions.
Not sure which is right? Reach out — we’re happy to guide you.
I’m recovering from an injury. Is Pilates safe for me?
Yes — especially here. HEILEN offers clinical Pilates, which means we’re trained to work with injuries, pathologies, and post-rehabilitation goals.
Every class is led by a comprehensively trained instructor, and we keep group sizes intentionally small to ensure you receive guidance that’s tailored to you. For more complex or specific injuries, we always recommend starting with a private session or our HEILEN Intensive series so we can assess and support your needs with care.
I’m pregnant — can I do Pilates at HEILEN?
With medical clearance, yes — and we’d love to support you.
We work with many clients through pregnancy and postnatal recovery, offering options that support your changing body, pelvic health, breath, and energy levels. We recommend beginning with a private session so we can safely assess and adjust for your trimester and needs, then guide you into suitable small group classes if and when appropriate.
HEILEN is a calm, non-competitive space that honours your season of life.
